As an experienced psychotherapist with 30 years working with individuals, groups and teams, I am happy to provide a highly skilled and dedicated professional service.
I adopt a practical proactive approach to bring fast relief and help clients move forward, together with a deeper dynamic approach to enable understanding of root cause to empower my clients toward lasting change.
I adapt therapy to meet the needs of each individual, to ensure effective delivery to each and every unique client, placing their needs and priorities at the heart of every consultation.
I have helped clients address a wide range of difficulties including: depression, anxiety, stress, personal/professional development, career, work issues, relationship issues, bereavement/ loss, life transitions, abuse, trauma and post traumatic stress (PTSD), identity and self esteem, health issues, insomnia, fatigue, phobias, OCD, anger management, childhood and relationship issues, addiction, personality disorders, fertility/termination issues, bipolar and related issues, dissociative disorders, somatic disorders, mood disorders.
Throughout my 30 years of clinical practice, I have worked in a range of settings including private practice, working as a consultant psychotherapist for the Priory hospital working with patients pre, post and during hospitalization. I also worked with the survivors of the Grenfell tragedy as a specialist trauma and bereavement therapist.
I held the role of Assistant Director at the Counselling in Primary Care Trust and lead on introducing counselling into NHS primary care. I have also lead on developing innovative programmes for research and the development of clinical professionals. I have worked with medical leadership groups at the King’s Fund (the UK’s medical think tank), providing personal and professional development programmes.
Alongside extensive clinical experience and training, as a trained yoga teacher, I have an interest in and an understanding of the power of the mind in relation to the body, able to bring a wealth of resources to help clients learn to deal with stress and develop resilience and wellbeing.
Qualifications and Training
I draw on a range of therapeutic models to help people reach their desired goals and fulfil their potential. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy, a Diploma in Bereavement Counselling, a Diploma in clinical Supervision for psychotherapists. I am an EMDR Trauma Therapist and have done additional Trauma focussed CBT and Integrated multi-modal CBT.
I am a qualified Psychotherapist accredited and registered with the UKCP.
Private Health Care Insurance Psychotherapist and Counsellor. Registered provider of counselling and psychotherapy for Healthcare Insurance companies including: Aviva, WPA, BUPA Global and Vitality (previously PruHealth).
