Your happiness is my goal.

If you’re seeking therapy because something is not quite right in your life, let me help. For nearly 20 years I have been helping people who are grappling with low mood; anxiety; anger problems; relationship difficulties; identity issues including poor self-confidence or low self-esteem; unpredictable mood swings; impulsive or unhelpful behaviours; and other complications that get in the way of their happiness. I work with individuals, couples and families.

As well as loads of experience, I’m also super-qualified. I have a master’s degree in systemic psychotherapy which means I’m a qualified family therapist. I am also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). CBT can help with depression, anger, anxiety, phobias and OCD whilst DBT is a proven approach to helping people with severe emotional problems, relationship difficulties, self-harming and suicidal thoughts.

I am client-focused and thoughtful. Through careful questions and listening I will always strive to understand why you’ve come to see me, and to think carefully with you about what you hope to gain from having therapy. I will avoid imposing my own ‘solutions’ to your ‘problems’. Instead I will work alongside you to develop your own answers and new ways of doing things that bring about lasting positive changes in your life. As your therapist, I will put a great deal of thought and attention into everything I say to you and do with you. I usually make notes and will be constantly reflecting on what is going on for you and between us. I receive regular supervision from a brilliant supervisor who helps me to view things from all sorts of perspectives and in fresh new ways. I keep myself up to date through reading journals and books.

I make it my number one priority to develop your trust, build your confidence in me, and to demonstrate to you that I am listening and attempting to understand what life’s like for you. When working with couples or families I try to remain neutral and balanced, avoiding taking sides or excluding anyone from being heard.

I have a great track record in helping my clients to live significantly happier lives. Why not get in touch and see if I can do the same for you?
